FWRA Best Practices & Emerging Solutions Guide 2015

This updated guide from the Food Waste Reduction Alliance (FWRA) offers practical steps and examples to help food manufacturers, food retailers, and restaurants cut food waste. Over 30 member companies provide insights and best practices from across the food industry, to reduce the amount of food that is wasted and increase the amount of food donations.

To start reducing the amount of food your business sends to landfills, the guide recommends:

  • Conducting a waste characterization assessment;
  • Establishing standard operating procedures; and
  • Developing and/or strengthening relationships.
