Mycologist Paul Stamets holds a wide variety of patents for the disruptive use of the mycelium fungus, including for the non-toxic control of ants and termites. In fact, he has many ideas for how mushrooms can help save the world. The Life Box is his latest. Listen to Paul describe the powerful role that fungi and mushrooms play in the ecosystem in terms of nutrient delivery, and how his packaging concept can both serve a functional purpose and help grow new trees, indigenous to one's geographic region, by planting the boxes. Through the help of both fungi and seeds in each box, we can proactively help bring native trees to an area over time, and in doing so, we'll be able to capture more carbon-dioxide from the air over lifetimes.
