Circular Economy in India: Rethinking Growth for Long-Term Prosperity

India's unprecedented economic dynamism, rapidly growing population, and rapid urbanization trends raise questions about resource use and environmental impacts. This report from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation proposes a development path that looks beyond a linear 'take, make and dispose' model of growth. By embarking on a circular economy transformation, the report suggests that India could create over $600 billion in annual economic value in 2050 and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 44 percent in 2050, in addition to other value for its businesses and population.
