A Close Look at the Trends and Business Case for Integrating Sustainability into Private Label Products

Private label products are increasingly shifting from shelf-equivalent to differentiated as retailers seek to carve out greater customer loyalty and profit from their store brand strategy. This session reviewed the trends and business case for integrating sustainability into private brand strategy. Session leader Pure Strategies reviewed benchmarking information on retailer trends and consumer insights. The second half of the session was an interactive workshop for attendees to consider the business case and approach for building sustainability into their private label offering. Participants worked in small groups and pairs to explore the potential to harness this effective strategy for engaging the retail business in product sustainability.
