Deploying the Principles of Sustainable Packaging: Distilling Best Practice and Optimal Paths Forward

What is the job we hire packaging to do? How do you integrate sustainability as part of your brand? What does the circular economy look like from a high-level partnership perspective and how does it translate to what works on the ground? The Sustainable Packaging Coalition has identified these questions as core drivers of sustainable packaging, leading to guiding principles such as (1) Design for Recovery; (2) Optimize the Design and (3) Source Sustainably. This interactive workshop addressed the reasoning behind these principles and covered the latest innovation examples and implementation tactics attendees can use to make progress with sustainable packaging. Participants had an opportunity to consider for themselves the systemic challenges in designing the perfect sustainable package.
