Corporate Carbon Policy Footprint

UK think tank InfluenceMap’s Corporate Carbon Footprint Policy report, identifies the 50 companies most influential in shaping climate and energy policy around the world. Greenhouse gas emissions have largely been relied upon to measure companies’ impact on climate change, but the report argues that extending the analysis of corporate behavior beyond its physical emissions would provide a more accurate portrayal of which corporations are assisting in the transition to a low carbon future and those that are hindering the effort.

The research introduces the Carbon Policy Footprint, a metric factoring in a corporation’s stance on climate policy, the level of its lobbying activity and its overall economic clout.
