Bonneville Environmental Foundation Releases Sustainability Report for SB'12
Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) released their sustainability report for the Water Restoration Certificates BEF sponsored for Sustainable Brands '12 conference. SB is happy to announce that the entire conference's water use was balanced through BEF, in addition to our broader initiative which included moving to zero waste output and offsetting the carbon emissions of the event in partnership with Native Energy.

Offsetting The Carbon Footprint of Sustainable Brands 2012
Carbon emissions from the Sustainable Brands '12 event were an important consideration in our zero waste efforts and NativeEnergy was selected as the official Carbon Offset Sponsor. NativeEnergy has donated Help Build™  carbon offsets from projects in Iowa, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania to counteract the carbon footprint of the venue energy use, all hotel accomodations, and attendee travel. In total, NativeEnergy is offsetting 591 tons of CO2.

New Tool from UL Environment’s SQ® Program Helps Manufacturers Gauge Sustainability Efforts
UL Environment, a business unit of UL (Underwriters Laboratories), has recently launched a free web-based tool that will help manufacturers assess their corporate sustainability efforts. This tool provides manufacturers with a preliminary analysis of their sustainability initiatives relative to the requirements of the UL 880 standard.

The Sustainable Brands Innovation Open (SBIO) has recently issued a challenge to for-profit start-ups: offer ideas that improve people’s lives and/or the environment. This new action comes in the wake of a partnership between SBIO and GOOD Maker, an online tool that enables organizations to engage the public to make good happen.
