Upcoming Event: Sustainable Brands '14 San Diego
We Moved to San Diego, CA this Year!
With this year's conference, we relocated to Paradise Point in San Diego, CA. The beauty of San Diego and Paradise Point offered unique opportunities for fresh perspective and creative inspiration for the Sustainable Brands Community.
San Diego has become known for its commitment to cross sector collaboration, and is becoming a hub of sustainable innovation, with 85 research clusters in the local area. The city plays host as well to two of the world's leading conservation research institutes in the San Diego Zoo and Scripps Institute of Oceanography at UCSD. It's proximity to Mexico has engendered significant investigation into cross cultural collaboration for common good. It is home to the lead instigator behind the greening of the military.
In a message to SB'12 attendees, Mayor Jerry Sanders commented: "We see innovation for sustainability as a strategic area of economic opportunity for the region, and are actively supporting several world leading initiatives, including the Biomimicry BRIDGE, a partnership between the San Diego Zoo, the City of San Diego, CONNECT, and the four Universities in town; UCSD, SDSU, USD and Point Loma Nazerene. We're excited to see the Sustainable Brands Conference move to San Diego; we know it will provide a wonderful exchange of inspiration and ideas."
David Hall, GM at Paradise Point sees hosting Sustainable Brands as a key step in the company's sustainability journey. "We recognize that this partnership offers an opportunity for our property to continue improving the sustainability of our daily operations. We believe the changes we make will not only help reduce our footprint, but also make a positive impact on our community and the planet." We look forward to continuing our partnership with Paradise Point when we return for SB'13.
"We are excited that Sustainable Life Media has chosen San Diego for its 2012 Sustainable Brands Conference. As one of San Diego's oldest and largest urban parks, Balboa Park has become a leader in environmentally sustainable practices for the arts and culture sector. We look forward to learning, teaching, and connecting with some of the world's most respected and progressive companies at the 2012 conference."
