Headhunting Firm Launches Energy-Czar Placement Service

May 16, 2008 - Executive search firm A.E. Feldman is helping large corporations hire "energy czars" to mastermind their energy efficiency initiatives for IT operations.

"Demand is intensifying for operations professionals with the expertise to address energy concerns," the company says. "At the governance level, organizations must also implement energy audits, put in the metrics, and hire and train the staff to monitor energy efficiency."

A new report from management consultancy McKinsey and datacenter research firm Uptime Institute recommends that companies appoint an internal energy czar as one of three key strategies for doubling datacenter efficiency by 2012.
