Shaw Combined Heat & Power Plant to lower carbon footprint
Shaw Industries Group, Inc. is building a cogeneration, Combined Heat & Power plant, at a fiber production facility in South Carolina. It will use less fuel - reducing greenhouse gas emissions by an estimated 26,000 metric tonnes per year (equal to removing almost 5,500 passenger vehicles from the road annually).

All of GM’s Ohio and Indiana manufacturing facilities will meet their electricit
All of GM’s Ohio and Indiana manufacturing facilities – including those that build the Chevrolet Cruze and Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup trucks – will meet their electricity needs through 100 percent renewable energy. GM is buying a total of 200 megawatts of wind energy from Ohio and Illinois wind farms. Once the turbines come online by the end of 2018, renewable energy will power 20 percent of GM’s global electricity use.

Today, Bank of America released “Banking on a Low-Carbon Economy: The Economic Impacts of Bank of America’s $125 Billion Environmental Business Initiative.” The report, based on analysis conducted by consulting firm EY, examines the economic impacts of a $12.6 billion subset of the company’s $125 billion environmental business commitment, focused on projects within the United States financed between 2013 and 2016. The results demonstrate that Bank of America’s commitment is having positive impacts on the economy and the environment.
