  Buzzwords are Never Buzzworthy
At times I start to feel like one of the biggest impediments to the sustainability movement are our terms. While itís often easy to blame Ďexternal forcesí like consumer apathy, corporate greed, or governments slow to adopt greener regulations, if we take a minute to look at ourselves, we might find that there is nothing quite so atrophying to sustainable innovation than the words we bring to the debate.

Sustainability consultants Soyka & Company released an updated report of the disclosed environmental management practices of the largest publicly traded corporations in the U.S. The study, Benchmarking Analysis of Disclosed U.S. Corporate Environmental Practices, assesses the presence or absence of 50 distinct indicators as a measure of a companyís ability to anticipate and actively manage the environmental issues that pose risks to and present opportunities for their operations.

  Yoplait, Esteť Lauder Among Brands Launching How2Recycle Labels
Several major consumer brands this summer will introduce the How2Recycle Label, a voluntary recycling label developed by the nonprofit GreenBlue and its Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC). The goal of the How2Recycle Label is to reduce consumer confusion in the U.S. with a clear and consistent recycling label and corresponding informational website.
