The day-to-day details:

SB’s Sponsorship Fulfillment Associate is responsible for managing relations with sponsors of live events and digital partners, as well as fulfilling on contract benefits for live events and digital. Will be the point of contact pre-event and onsite for all fulfillment needs. Working with the Senior Manager of Sponsorship Fulfillment and Executive Producer of Events to manage client expectations and engagements at onsite events. Actively researching additional value ads and creative engagement opportunities to suit client needs. Associate will also work closely with the Live Event Operations team in sourcing attendee engagement activities and supporting with build of event mobile app and other attendee communication/engagement tools.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sponsorship fulfillment: logistics, registration, creative support, client support
  • Ability to utilize CRM platform to keep progress and communications with clients updated
  • Produce Impact Reports for appropriate sponsors
  • Assisting with administrative duties such as LOA and template revisions and creation
  • Onboarding, management, and point of contact for exhibitors at live events
  • Working in partnership with Senior Event Coordinator: sourcing, managing (pre-event/onsite), producing event mobile app
  • Manage webinar production and client relations
  • Point of contact for digital partnership fulfillment - connecting with editorial staff, management of client assets on SustainableBrands.com
  • Collect data for all digital partners via various platforms: Google DFP, Amazon AWS, Google Analytics, Meltwater

 

Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, event management, and/or hospitality

The day-to-day details:

SB’s General Accounting Manager is responsible for the smooth, day-to-day functioning of our accounting and finance function. This includes revenue and expense tracking and allocation, AR and AP management, collections, reconciliations, and cash management. You will work closely with department staff on budget tracking, variance analysis, and product profit and loss. You will be the main point of contact for accounting and finance issues at the company. You will handle sensitive information, the nature of which can range from company financials, employee salaries and benefits, to legal documents and correspondence. As such, discretion is of the utmost importance in this position to ensure the safety of company data and sound company policy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • All general accounting matters
  • Drive the monthly closing process
  • All financial reporting
  • Act as the company expert on the Accounting system, Intacct, and interact on a regular basis with Salesforce for proper data and reporting.
  • Payables: Enter all bills, pay in timely manner, itemize and code all entries
  • Manage the HR Director on Payroll: process payroll semi-monthly including needed deductions, expense reimbursements, and 401k deferrals
  • Manage the Office Coordinator on Receivables: client invoicing, process bank deposits, phone/email collections
  • Monthly account and bank reconciliations
  • Process monthly journal entries for depreciation, amortization and deferred revenue
  • Prepare all federal, state and city license taxes with assistance from outside
  • Issue weekly and monthly reports to all departments, including:
    • Commission reports monthly for approval and payment with payroll
    • Issue monthly financial statements including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
    • Prepare Summary KPI’s and OKRs on a monthly basis
    • Prepare Quarterly Reports for Board of Directors
    • Maintain the Company’s Cap Table

Communications Design Assistant (Volunteer/Intern)

 

About the Position

Our Marketing team seeks a qualified Design Intern to assist the Design Manager, along with other members of the Marketing team. The position is part-time, about 10-15 hours per week. The work will likely be divided between work in our San Francisco office and work from home.  

 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Design a wide range of projects for print and digital: web banners, print ads, event materials, presentations, brochures, and other branding identity materials — from supporting concept to production

  • Solicit and incorporate feedback on your work from the Design Manager, marketing team members and other cross-functional team members.

 

Skills and Experience

 

  • A portfolio showcasing strong work with layout, typography, (some illustration and photography are a bonus) and ability to share creative process.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in designing for print and web
  • Comfortable with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver is a plus!)

Front End Digital Coordinator (Volunteer/Intern)

About the Position

The Sustainable Brands International Team seeks an intern to join our team to assist with the Front End Digital Management. Each year, partner organizations in other countries take our core conference model and implement it in their respective countries. In 2016, we had partner-led conferences in Istanbul, Tokyo, Buenos Aires, Cape Town, and many others.


We are looking for someone with a solid background in coding to assist our international partners. In this role, you will be responsible for taking content from our international partners and uploading it to the main Sustainable Brands website (sustainablebrands.com) while also helping partners edit and maintain the microsites for their respective countries.



Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Uploading digital content from international partners (photos, event information) to the Sustainable Brands website

  • Each of our international partners has their own individual microsite for their upcoming conferences (ex: http://events.sustainablebrands.com/sb17istanbul/). You will be in charge of answering questions about these microsites -- how to set them up, how to edit them, what editing powers are available, etc.


Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with coding languages like HTML and CSS (required)

  • Basic knowledge of graphic design, as you will be dealing with many design assets.

  • Proficient with all common types of information technology, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Docs and all manners of Internet research

  • Video editing experience a major plus

We are looking for someone to help us work more effectively with our international partners. In this role, you will help us streamline our communication with our partners (by facilitating monthly calls with our team and our partners, coordinating meetings with partners and members of the SB team, and helping us plan an event for international partners specifically at our upcoming conferences).



Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Communicating with international partners through email, video tools etc.

  • Facilitating monthly phone calls between international partners and key members of the Sustainable Brands team

  • Assisting with the set-up and creation of monthly newsletters to all international partners

  • Help to coordinate a day-long or weekend-long event international partners either before or after our upcoming conferences.

Insight Development Research Associate (Volunteer/Intern)

About the Position:

• Assist with research, design and coordination of Sustainable Brands conference content, supporting program development for flagship annual conferences in the United States and Western Europe, as well as the ground-breaking New Metrics of Sustainable Business series of events;

• Develop research reports and/or case studies to build up and/or update an internal knowledge base on a number of cutting-edge corporate sustainability topics;

• Assist with, and potentially lead, other special projects, which may include co-authoring case studies and white papers;

• Assist with other duties on behalf of the Director of Program Development or the Managing Editor, as needed;

• NOTE: This is an unpaid part-time position and we prefer candidates who can commit at least 20 hours a week. There is some potential to move into a paid leadership position after 3 months, depending on individual performance and the overall growth of the business.

 

About You:

Sustainable Brands puts on various live events throughout the year, and you'll be working directly with the Operations team, who is responsible for the planning and logistics of our flagship Sustainable Brands conference in June, as well as our fall events, SB'17 Copenhagen, and New Metrics '17.

 

 


You will be responsible for supporting the team in various tasks such as:


Registration:

  • Plan, account for and manage preparation of event materials needed at the registration desk onsite

  • Assist in the preparation of onsite conference materials

  • Help to plan, design and prepare on-site tool and resource kits for various team members and stakeholders

  • Support attendees with registration help as necessary (helping to update attendee information/provide them log-in details etc)

Digital Support:

  • Manage and update the SB'17 Copenhagen & New Metrics '17 event mobile app - owning the process from start to finish (data entry, timeline, coordinating with Marketing team)

  • Create digital analytics reports for digital sponsorships

Attendee Special Events:

  • Assist the Event Operations Team in ideating, planning and strategizing around attendee engagement opportunities and special events at 2017/2018 conferences

  • Assist Events Manager in recruitment and management of volunteers for events

  • Recruit, help to hire, and train your own replacement at the conclusion of the contract

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Borderline obsessive attention to detail

Schedule

What is unique about this position is it's on a revolving schedule. Member Engagement and Fulfillment [Intern]

About the Position

The Sustainable Brands Membership team seeks an intern to assist with Corporate Member Engagement and Fulfillment. The Membership Intern will be involved in administrative and sustainability content projects for SB’s global network of Corporate Member organizations. This role will require constant interaction with our Corporate Member Network and is an outstanding opportunity to learn about and keep informed of all the latest corporate sustainability efforts and trends.

The Member Engagement and Fulfillment team ensures that our members are equipped to utilize their membership in order to help them on their path to a sustainable future. This position will support the Member Engagement and Fulfillment team on projects ranging from administration, content creation and research.

The majority of the work is done online and digitally; therefore, the intern must be tech savvy and have strong computer skills and familiarity with Google Drive, Dropbox, and HTML. Must have access to a personal laptop and the ability to work in the Downtown San Francisco office at least once a week, 20-40 hrs/week.

Responsibilities

  • Update/maintain website, databases, and documents
  • Research and develop organizational tools for membership management

  • Open, progressive, and optimistic attitude, recognizing the potential for impact and influence in all organizations and interested in assisting their sustainability journeys

Live Event Publicity Coordinator (Intern)

Position Summary:  Provide public relations and media assistance to the communications team. Contribute to execution and analysis of live event communications campaigns that ultimately lead to increased awareness and visibility for Sustainable Brands events and the community. Part-time (approx. 15-20 hrs/week) student internship. Able to work in San Francisco office 2-3 days per week.

This internship receives a nominal monthly stipend and may include travel and board to our flagship conference in the Spring, so please keep this in mind; we are always looking for qualified individuals to join our team, so the potential for future employment is there for the right candidate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the research, writing and distribution of press releases; insert tracking links within the release, upload the release through various distribution services, maintain a log of all final press releases
  • Search for and identify all SB related press featured in media outlets and maintain log
  • Track reporters requesting press passes to events and help coordinate final pass allocations
  • Assist in compiling comprehensive information about Sustainable Brands and parent company, Sustainable Life Media, for targeted media
  • Assist in creating brochures and sell sheets for media
  • Assist in maintaining a database of journalists, editors, publishers and freelance writers; assist in cultivating relationships with key contacts.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Completed or working towards a Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing or public relations from an accredited institution
  • Familiar with performance metrics and measurement of individual press releases and other communications vehicles (traffic sources, views, user engagement, etc)
  • Familiar with Google Analytics and news monitoring services
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point); database software skills a plus
