Summary:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Copywriting
    • Write and edit all copy for the Company website, brochures, promotional emails, weekly email newsletters and advertising
    • With input from the content team, write blog posts promoting Sustainable Brands global events
    • Compose text-based emails for one-to-one outreach
    • Design story ledes, campaign copy and taglines, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn posts, and snippets for social media and marketing use
  • Inside Sales
    • Conduct outbound telephone prospecting based on target lists
    • Qualify and follow up with sales leads, and convert incomplete registrations and special requests
    • Generate various reports for management team on an ongoing basis
  • Social Media
    • Find content relevant for SB social community.
    • Post to SB social networks’ editorial, marketing and community content.
    • Track the success of SB social media, and track growth.
    • Find & test new and better ways to increase social spread & impact.
  • Media & Affiliate Partner Relationship Management for SB Events
    • Establish outreach partnership plans tying key audience development goals to specific targeted partners
    • Develop and maintain agreements with key media/outreach partners
    • Ensure that SLM maintains exceptional relationships with all key partners with help of team and volunteer support
    • Maintain database of media & affiliate partners and ensure deliverables are executed accordingly and on time
    • Create, manage and analyze partner campaign efficacy (traffic, conversions to sale, offer adoption rates, use of discount codes, etc.)
    • Recommend potential media & affiliate partners that fulfill the marketing plan target audience profiles
    • Allocate and measure ROI of social media promotional budget

 

Desired Experience:

  • 2-3 years experience composing editorial copy and/or marketing messaging for social media and web publishing channels in a professional context
  • 2-3 years experience in partnership or customer relationship development, including writing detailed email communications and managing related documents

Summary:

The full-time Business Development Associate will support the Business Development team across all products and services. With direction from the departmental head, this person will create sales tools and processes for our sales team and oversee the delivery of all sales-related training. Insight Development Research Associate (Volunteer/Intern)

About the Position in 2016:

• Assist with research, design and coordination of Sustainable Brands conference content, supporting program development for flagship annual conferences in the United States and Western Europe, as well as the ground-breaking New Metrics of Sustainable Business series of events;

• Develop research reports and/or case studies to build up and/or update an internal knowledge base on a number of cutting-edge corporate sustainability topics;

• Assist with, and potentially lead, other special projects, which may include co-authoring case studies and white papers;

• Assist with other duties on behalf of the Director of Program Development or the Managing Editor, as needed;

Sustainable Brands puts on various live events throughout the year, and you’ll be working directly with the Operations team, who is responsible for the planning and logistics of our flagship Sustainable Brands conference in May SB’17 Detroit.


You will be responsible for supporting the team in various tasks such as:


Registration:

  • Assist Marketing team in outreach to help convert incomplete registrations to paid attendees

  • Plan, account for and manage preparation of event materials needed at the registration desk onsite

  • Assist in the preparation of onsite conference materials including

  • Help to plan, design and prepare on-site tool and resource kits for various team members and stakeholders

  • Support attendees with registration help as necessary (helping to update attendee information/provide them log-in details etc)

Digital Support:

  • Manage and update the SB’16 Copenhagen event mobile app - owning the process from start to finish (data entry, timeline, coordinating with Marketing team)

  • Own the SB Digital Library event updates and maintenance

  • Update event webpages as directed to ensure event pages communicate latest and most up-to-date information

Attendee Special Events:

  • Assist the Event Operations Team in ideating, planning and strategizing around attendee engagement opportunities and special events at 2016/2017 conferences

  • Assist Sr. Events Manager in recruitment and management of Sustainability Team for events

  • Recruit, help to hire, and train your own replacement at the conclusion of the contract


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Borderline obsessive attention to detail

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills

  • Above average tech savvy(or eager to learn)

  • Basic HTML knowledge (desired)

  • Experience with Event Planning/Management

Schedule

The position is part-time, about 20-25 hours per week, and is based in our San Francisco office. Telecommuting is available on Fridays, but you will work out of our office for the majority of the time. 


What is unique about this position is it’s on a revolving schedule. Member Engagement and Fulfillment [Intern]

About the Position

The Sustainable Brands Membership team seeks an intern to assist with Corporate Member Engagement and Fulfillment. The Membership Intern will be involved in administrative and sustainability content projects for SB’s global network of Corporate Member organizations. This role will require constant interaction with our Corporate Member Network and is an outstanding opportunity to learn about and keep informed of all the latest corporate sustainability efforts and trends.

The Member Engagement and Fulfillment team ensures that our members are equipped to utilize their membership in order to help them on their path to a sustainable future. This position will support the Member Engagement and Fulfillment team on projects ranging from administration, content creation and research.

The majority of the work is done online and digitally; therefore, the intern must be tech savvy and have strong computer skills and familiarity with Google Drive, Dropbox, and HTML. Must have access to a personal laptop and the ability to work in the Downtown San Francisco office at least once a week, 20-40 hrs/week.

Summary

The Manager of Front-End Web Development will support the Marketing team across all our digital communications products and services. With direction from the departmental head, this role will be responsible for adapting our brand style to the digital realm and oversee the delivery of responsive web and email experiences for our audience and stakeholders. They will also strive to improve and optimize processes for development projects and identify tools and resources to maintain product integrity and relevance. We are looking for a values-aligned, quality-focused team member to fill this role who has a solid understanding of what constitutes good design and coding best practices, and who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative team environment.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Front End Development:
    • Manage multiple digital design and development projects in a deadline-driven team environment
    • Develop, maintain and support front end website, event microsites and landing pages
    • Create daily and weekly marketing emails and newsletters
    • Integrate the website with several other platforms including Google Analytics, Adwords, Salesforce, Marketo etc.
    • Test and troubleshoot across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices, including smart phones and tablets
  • Digital Content Management:

    • Copy edit and QA/correct pages on event microsites, e.g. Special Events Pages

Live Event Publicity Coordinator (Intern)

Position Summary:  Provide public relations and media assistance to the communications team. Contribute to execution and analysis of live event communications campaigns that ultimately lead to increased awareness and visibility for Sustainable Brands events and the community.   • Assist in creating brochures and sell sheets for media

Desired Skills and Experience:

Job Description – Sponsorship Coordinator: Live Event/Digital

Summary:  Part-time internship open to a passionate, dedicated individual looking to gain experience at the intersection where business meets sustainability.  He/she will also coordinate fulfillment of all sponsorship agreements after signing – both live events and digital, alongside managing those relationships before, during and after the conferences. Recruits in-kind donor/sponsors and manages the process from start to finish.

About the Position:

Sustainable Brands ’16 is the 10th annual conference where we bring together business executives from all over the world for four amazingly packed days of plenaries, breakouts, networking events, an Activation Hub with over 100 exhibitors, an innovation open, and so much more. You’ll be working directly with the Sponsorship & Expo Manager and the whole Operations team at SB, responsible for the coordination of exhibitors at the Activation Hub, executing on all plans for the conference, overseeing the registration process for sponsors, fulfillment of sponsor agreements, and making sure the sales and operations teams play nice among many other things.  This internship also includes fulfillment of our digital partners, including web advertisement management, profiles, etc.  Although this is an unpaid internship, the position includes travel & expenses to San Diego for the conference from June 6 – 9, and please also keep in mind; we are always looking for qualified individuals to join our team, so there is plenty of potential for future employment for the right candidate.


About You:

You are passionate about sustainability playing a role in the business space. You are detail-oriented, great at organizing and planning, and can easily multi-task without getting too overwhelmed. You are eager and willing to learn, and above all you can do so in a fast-paced work environment.  You are an effective and professional communicator. You are good at working in a team, but can be responsible for your own tasks and can take initiative when necessary. You are motivated and self-disciplined and can see a project through from start to finish without a lot of hand-holding. Multi-media skills such as audio/video editing or graphic design skills would be a great bonus. And most importantly, you are willing and able to go above and beyond all the while having a fun-loving attitude!


Now on to the nitty-gritty…

Duties and Responsibilities Specific to Live Events:

  • Sponsor and Exhibitor Coordination

    • Function as main contact for sponsors post contract signing – with the goal of maximizing the value of their participation for all parties involved

    • Manage and fulfill on deliverables SLM has committed to each sponsor

    • Maintain accurate and detailed record of each sponsor relationship

    • Oversee use of sponsor logos

    • Build and maintain sponsor-related pages of the SB website

    • Live Event

      • Design and execute the on-site sponsor experience, including registration, orientation, recognition, special events, workshops, gifts and receptions

      • Design and execute sponsor communications: hotel, registration, schedule, etc.

      • Create and manage all sponsor registration codes, distributing to the sponsor and onsite registration member

    • Digital

      • Managing all sponsor ad placement on SustainableBrands.com and in corresponding newsletters

      • Manage continuous correspondence with digital partners, calling for editorial content, managing access to the Member News Room

      • Uploading all relevant digital partner content (white papers, press releases, reports, etc.) to Member News Room and connect with Managing Editor to publish sponsored articles.


  • In-kind Donor Recruitment & Management

    • Seek valuable relationships with in-kind donors to help offset event expenses and to create an on-site attendee gift lounge showcasing eco-friendly gifts and products. In Kind needs typically include coffee, tea, wine, liquor, beer, print/signage needs in addition to gift items for the gift lounge

      • Must be able to build rapport with members and community members, so that you are comfortable asking for these items

    • Coordinate shipping with venues/decorator and organize product on-site

    • Ensure fulfillment of in-kind sponsorship agreements



  • Graphic Art Management

    • Coordinate sponsor logo placement; online and on-site

    • In collaboration with the Graphic Designer, develop all on-site signage

    • Liaison with the printer from start to finish product on signage


Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Special Projects

    • Work with the Sponsorship & Expo Manager and the Executive Producer, Live Events on various projects related to sponsor engagement during the live events and conferences throughout the year.

Schedule

We’re looking for a valuable addition to our team with a high potential for growth into a full-time position for the right fit. So if you are the right person, we are willing to be flexible with the timing of this internship. However, this is a general outline of what we’d expect:

  • Starting ASAP

  • Jan – March: 2 days per week or approximately 10-15 hours per week

  • April & May: 2-3 days per week or approximately 20-25 hours per week

  • June 6th-9th: In San Diego full time on-site at Paradise Point

  • After conference: Potential for growth/further employment
