Cecilia focuses on business strategy within the context of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Strategy is carried out at three levels: corporate aggregate, business unit(s), operational unit(s). Maximizing long-term value is the key to sustainability. Value cannot be leveraged without profits (you can exist without profits but growth without profit is difficult at best). Investment is also not possible without surplus/profits. Lastly, strategy must be proactive and executable in the future. For CSR to be sustainable and a key part of corporate strategy, it cannot be one-off activities and events. It must be tied to the operational aspects of product/service delivery. In other words, in addition to answering: How do you stay in business? CSR strategy must answer: How does your product/service further social rights and environmental responsibility?
