Jessica is a native of Sacramento, and graduated with a B.A. in Interpersonal & Organizational Communication at the California State University of Long Beach. After earning her degree she spent time traveling across North America in her previous position for International Student Volunteers, and also lived in Seville, Spain, where she worked in the tourist and hospitality industry. Although with a minor in Political Science she always maintained an interest in the convergence of politics and the effects of globalization; it wasn't until after she graduated that she began researching current industrial and environmental challenges and learning of the critical role industry has in addressing these pressing issues. Her passion for creating a future where business heeds as much to the social and environmental outcomes as it does to profits, lead her to San Francisco; arguably the epicenter of sustainable innovation. She thoroughly enjoys  being part of the dynamic SLM team, and is  ever-so grateful to be contributing her part to drive the shift toward a thriving and more sustainable future.
