John Trujillo

John Trujillo has 22 years of local government experience and is currently the Assistant Director for the City of Phoenix Public Works Department.  As the Assistant Public Works Director, John has managed all major programs and operations for Public Works, including facilities maintenance, energy, administration, fleet maintenance and solid waste.  Currently, he is managing the Solid Waste Services program, which includes over 600 employees, collection of 390,000 residences for garbage and recycling, management of 6 closed and 1 open landfill, 2 transfer stations, 2 municipal recycling facilities, and a $148 million dollar budget.

John currently serves as the chair of the National American Public Works Association (APWA) Solid Waste Committee.   John holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Northern Arizona University.
