Marie-Claire Daveu is currently the Chief Sustainability Officer and Head of international institutional affairs at Kering. Daveu joined Kering in September 2012 having come from an extensive career in the public sector as a senior civil servant in the French Government within the realm of ecology and sustainable development. From November 2010 to March 2012, Daveu occupied the post of Chief of Staff to the Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport and Housing, after having also served as Chief of Staff to Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet while she was in charge of Forward Planning, Assessment of Public Policies and Development of the Digital Economy from 2009 to 2010, as well as during her term as Secretary of State for Ecology from 2007 to 2009.

During this earlier period, Daveu was also Deputy Chief of Staff to the Minister of State, Jean-Louis Borloo. Prior to this, Daveu’s career as a civil servant included cabinet posts as Chief of Staff to Serge Lepeltier, Minister of Ecology and Sustainable Development (2004-2005) and Technical Adviser to the Cabinet of Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin (2002-2004). Additionally, Daveu was responsible for economic studies on trade and the environment for the Minister of Planning and the Environment (2001-2002) and was appointed Chief of Environment and Land Management for the Department of Agriculture and Forestry in la Manche (1996-1997).

Daveu also crossed over into the private sector as Senior Director of Sustainable Development at the Sanofi-Aventis Group from 2005 to 2007, where she translated her background in ecology and environmental issues, technical sustainability expertise, and national and international policy within the framework of business operations and corporate strategy. She also previously occupied two positions in the Danone Group as a trainee from 1996 to 1997 in France and Italy.

A member of Kering’s Executive Committee, Marie-Claire Daveu is also a Board member of AgroParisTech. Daveu holds an Engineering degree in Rural Engineering, Water and Forests from ENGREF and has a Masters (DESS) in public administration from Paris-Dauphine University. She also graduated as an Agricultural Engineer from the Institut National Agronomique Paris-Grignon.
