Mathieu Turpault
Design Director
Bresslergroup
Bio:
As Director of Design at Bresslergroup, Mathieu leads a team of accomplished multidisciplinary designers working across a variety of projects and industries. He is passionate about sustainable design and leads Bresslergroup’s Designers Accord and other sustainability initiatives. Mathieu is a firm believer that designers have the ability and responsibility to influence and direct change - and that their unique set of problem-solving skills positions them to be better change agents than most.
Two recent examples are the redesign of the best-selling Victor mousetrap for U.S. manufacturing, eliminating carbon emissions from container ships from China, a change to No. 2 plastic and elimination of over one million blister packs per year. The Evolution Reduction Reel, another example, is an industrial cable reel – reimagined in modular parts – that can now be reused 36 times, versus two uses with the previous design.
Other recent Bresslergroup projects include the MDEA award-winning Bactec FX for BD, several products for Black & Decker and Greener Gadget concept award winner, Power Hog. Mathieu graduated from the Superior School of Industrial Design of Paris (ESDI). A native of Paris, Mathieu is fluent in French and English and manages client relationships, across states, countries and continents. Mathieu has won numerous awards including IDEAs, MDEA & ID among others.
