Summary of Role:

The Manager of Marketing Operations will be responsible for the why and how of a marketing strategy set to reach thousands of conference attendees, speakers, sponsors and partners. You will work collaboratively with the Event Marketing team to oversee successful planning, execution and analysis of event marketing campaigns that drive total attendance, attendee revenue, and sponsorship revenue for the Sustainable Brands Live Events. Travel to several conference locations each year is likely. This person will also be responsible for speaking to interested customers and cultivating relationships.

Primary Responsibilities:

Marketing Campaigns:

Planning:

  • Leverage SB data to help Product Leader assemble live event marketing plans, communications plans, and creative, effective marketing campaigns.
  • Plan and analyze effective, engaging email campaigns about the event to target likely customers and conference alumni
  • Monitor competitive events and generate innovative marketing tactics for team to use

Implementation:

  • Deliver against Live Event attendee revenue goals that are set in collaboration with the senior management team
  • Set up and modify event microsite web pages to support campaign initiatives; build pages that engage potential customers and help them convert 
  • Monitor prospect funnel from microsite visitor to converted attendee and sponsor; improve this conversion through lead capture tactics, nurture campaigns and other mechanisms
  • Overseeing marketing operations through technologies like Pardot, Google Analytics, Adwords, Tag Manager, and social media sites
  • Help the team implement against plans and budget; help project manage tasks for different team members and execute on budget
  • Set up and manage campaigns in Pardot to nurture conference attendee and sponsorship leads
  • Create ad hoc design assets -- banner ads, social media graphics, videos -- to support event marketing campaigns
  • Manage content capture efforts at conferences and its use in promotional materials thereafter

Analysis:

  • Track performance of marketing campaigns and iterate where necessary
  • Collect A/B and other campaign performance results to inform future work
  • Manage the development and delivery of the recap process and deck

About You/Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Marketing, Digital Marketing or Marketing Operations a plus.
  • Must have an intermediate to extensive level of expertise in Marketing communications and analytics tools; including, but not limited to, Pardot (or other similar email marketing platforms), Microsoft Excel, Google Analytics, Adwords, and social media sites
  • Have a proven ability to plan, implement, and use data analysis to tweak marketing plans over a product or service cycle.
  • Excellent written communication, preferably marketing copy experience.
  • Thinks creatively about marketing tactics to engage and develop audience.
  • Proactive in analyzing performance, and making adjustments as necessary to get excellent results.
  • Ability to hit the ground running; will not need much training on the Primary Responsibilities
  • Proficiency in HTML, web design and/or Adobe Suite a big plus.
  • Familiarity or passion for sustainable business also a bonus.
