At the inaugural Sustainable Brands conference in New Orleans in 2007, GE shared it's budding vision and goals for Ecomagination — the first corporate brand directive designed to drive business growth from sustainable business innovation. Since then, GE's success has has been astounding by any business measure, with most early goals exceeded far in advance of expectation.

On the 5th anniversary of Sustainable Brands, GE's Program Manager Kate Brass shares lessons learned since 2007 and provides a provocative perspective on how we may be heading astray as a community and where we should focus efforts for the future in order to ensure the successful shift to sustainability, and that sustainable brands capture the leading brand spots of the future.
