Grand Prize Winner:

One World Futbol
(www.oneworldfutbol.com)SB Innovation Open

One World Futbol manufactures and distributes the One World Futbol—a unique, patent-pending, ultra-durable, non-inflated soccer ball that solves a fundamental problem of 'regular' balls: when used in the harsh environments, an inflated ball soon goes flat and becomes useless.  One World Futbol stands up to such conditions and keeps the joy of play alive.  For retail sales, the Project uses a "Give One, Get One" sales model, donating one ball for every one sold.

First Runner Up

(www.skiptorenew.com)SB Innovation Open

The lubricant industry in the United States is a $20 billion dollar industry, responding to a demand for more than 3.6 billion gallons.  Only 10 percent of this lubricant is refined and reused.  More than 50 percent of bio-based and synthetic lubricants are disposed into the environment, releasing carcinogens and endocrine disruptors such as cadmium, lead, and chromium. Skip to RenewTM was founded with the purpose of providing renewable, non-toxic and biodegradable lubricants. Skip-to-Renew has a patent pending for bio-based hydraulic fluid and bicycle lubricant. Skip-to-Renew strives to be the leading global provider of high quality, sustainable, eco-friendly and cost effective bio-based lubricants.

People's Choice Award:

Who Gives a Crap
(www.whogivesacrap.org)SB Innovation Open

Who Gives A Crap is an environmentally friendly brand of toilet paper that uses 50% of its profits to build toilets in the developing world. 2.4 billion people, (~40% of the world), don't have access to a clean toilet. Consequently human urine and feces contaminate cooking and drinking water, causing the deaths of 4000 children under the age of five every day (WaterAid Australia).  We think that's pretty crap! Who Gives A Crap (WGAC) addresses this problem by selling environmentally friendly toilet paper in the developed world, and using 50% of its profits to build toilets in the developing world. These toilets provide proper sanitation, and contain human waste for later use as fertilizer. WGAC brings a fun, attitude heavy, yet purposeful brand to a predicable toilet paper market. Forget cute puppies or fluffy feathers, WGAC is about dealing with serious issues in a fun way.
