Summary of Role:

The Manager of Marketing Operations will be responsible for the why and how of a marketing strategy set to reach thousands of conference attendees, speakers, sponsors and partners. You will work collaboratively with the Event Marketing team to oversee successful planning, execution and analysis of event marketing campaigns that drive total attendance, attendee revenue, and sponsorship revenue for the Sustainable Brands Live Events. Travel to several conference locations each year is likely. This person will also be responsible for speaking to interested customers and cultivating relationships.

Primary Responsibilities:

Marketing Campaigns:

Planning:

  • Leverage SB data to help Product Leader assemble live event marketing plans, communications plans, and creative, effective marketing campaigns.
  • Plan and analyze effective, engaging email campaigns about the event to target likely customers and conference alumni
  • Monitor competitive events and generate innovative marketing tactics for team to use

Implementation:

  • Deliver against Live Event attendee revenue goals that are set in collaboration with the senior management team
  • Set up and modify event microsite web pages to support campaign initiatives; build pages that engage potential customers and help them convert 
  • Monitor prospect funnel from microsite visitor to converted attendee and sponsor; improve this conversion through lead capture tactics, nurture campaigns and other mechanisms
  • Overseeing marketing operations through technologies like Pardot, Google Analytics, Adwords, Tag Manager, and social media sites
  • Help the team implement against plans and budget; help project manage tasks for different team members and execute on budget
  • Set up and manage campaigns in Pardot to nurture conference attendee and sponsorship leads
  • Create ad hoc design assets -- banner ads, social media graphics, videos -- to support event marketing campaigns
  • Manage content capture efforts at conferences and its use in promotional materials thereafter

Analysis:

  • Track performance of marketing campaigns and iterate where necessary
  • Collect A/B and other campaign performance results to inform future work
  • Manage the development and delivery of the recap process and deck

About You/Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Marketing, Digital Marketing or Marketing Operations a plus.
  • Must have an intermediate to extensive level of expertise in Marketing communications and analytics tools; including, but not limited to, Pardot (or other similar email marketing platforms), Microsoft Excel, Google Analytics, Adwords, and social media sites
  • Have a proven ability to plan, implement, and use data analysis to tweak marketing plans over a product or service cycle.
  • Excellent written communication, preferably marketing copy experience.
  • Thinks creatively about marketing tactics to engage and develop audience.
  • Proactive in analyzing performance, and making adjustments as necessary to get excellent results.
  • Ability to hit the ground running; will not need much training on the Primary Responsibilities
  • Proficiency in HTML, web design and/or Adobe Suite a big plus.
  • Familiarity or passion for sustainable business also a bonus.

Summary of Role:

The Business Development Representative is responsible for bringing in new business across our three Lines of Business: Live Event Sponsorship, Membership, and through the Digital Platform. You will work in collaboration with the rest of the BDRs to strategically bring value and opportunity to our customers, who are some of the world's largest brands leading sustainability today. You will travel to conference locations several times per year, and will also be responsible for visiting customers and cultivating relationships ongoing. You are extremely diligent in relationship management and you bring heart and personality to the work you do.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver annualized sales between US$500K - $1.5MM depending on experience, position and tenure level, through the creation and ongoing management of a Sales Pipeline that is both self-generated as well as generated by internal Business Development processes
  • Seek to engage with Global 1000 companies horizontally and vertically, finding the decision maker and crafting custom engagement opportunities
  • Grow revenue both nationally & internationally
  • Actively contribute to SB’s mission and growth opportunities across all business / product lines
  • Develop global sponsorship packages (in conjunction with marketing and operations teams) to include:
    • Digital outreach
    • On-site customer service program
    • Package/customize multiple event & digital programs, globally

Summary of Role:

The Senior Manager of Conferences is responsible for taking all of the conference details, timeline, and logistics and turning them into a brand-aligned, excellent, unique, sustainability-driven conference, from start to finish. You will work in tight partnership with the Director of Product Management and Marketing to keep all event timelines on target by working cross-functionally with Content, Business Development, and Global Brand. You will also work tightly with the Senior Manager of Sponsorship & Expo to bring both the Conference & Expo alive with a fun and engaging experience for all stakeholders. You will travel to conference locations several times per year, and will also be responsible for seeking out new destinations for conferences in the future. As of 2018, this role includes SB Annual Flagship Event, SB’s annual New Metrics Event, and periodic events with our Corporate Membership group.

Primary Responsibilities:

Event Strategy:

  • Maintain relationships with destination cities, CVBs, housing agencies, audio/visual companies, event contractor/decorator, and other external vendors in order to produce the most cost-effective, brand-aligned, sustainable event possible.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Staff to set goals, and create informative, collaborative updates for leadership and advisory board on a regular basis.
  • In collaboration with other Departmental leads, the COO, and CEO, design the attendee, sponsor, and speaker experience
  • Determine the budget and resources that it will take to produce each Conference, and then manage the timeline, budget, and resources for each.
  • Risk management and Insurance

Project & Budget Management: 

  • Define and manage each event timeline, working cross-functionally to keep the SB team accountable to agreed upon milestones to execute events on time, on budget, and with an excellent attendee, sponsor, and speaker experience.
  • Comfortably manage the conference budget working in partnership with the VP of Finance, and all other Dept. Leads to meet budget and margin goals.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Product and Event Marketing, ensure gross profitability goals are met or exceeded.

Conference Logistics:

  • Venue Relationships and Coordination
    • Contract Compliance
    • Food & beverage menus
    • Conference center and room setup
  • AV Relationships and Coordination:
    • Onsite stage & AV management
    • Master schedules/timelines/show flows
    • Content capture plan and execution
  • Plenary Management and Stage Design
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Manager of Sponsorship & Expo to produce the Conference & Expo in synchronicity for the best possible attendee experience. 
  • Special Event creation and execution (in and out of the main venues)
  • Create framework and implement program to collect, track and analyze event feedback. Formulate appropriate responses within the next event cycle for continuous improvement.
  • Run company-wide event sync meetings with the Director of Product Management & Marketing
  • Oversee the Speaker Manager and the process of onboarding speakers to set them up for success at the conference.
  • Oversee the Volunteer Coordinator with recruitment, on-site staffing needs, on-site management.
  • Housing & Registration Management
    • Monitor pace and pickup, contract, and customer service
    • Ensure adequate call center support staff through third party vendor
  • Ensure SB is a sustainable event, setting and achieving aggressive event sustainability goals.
    • Oversee and working external sustainability partners
  • Manage contract or temporary staff in event cycles
  • Manage all aspects of acquiring and implementing a Mobile App for each event

About You/Experience Required:

  • 5-7 years of experience related to Events Production, Project Management, Brand Activation, or another related field.
  • If primary experience is not in Project Management, must have proven ability to coordinate a massive amount of details, logistics, and teams.
  • Ability to hit the ground running; will not need much training on the Primary Responsibilities
  • Driven to help the Events business grow
  • Naturally thinks creatively about event design and the attendee experience
  • Desired experience producing an expo or have been involved with creative expos.
  • Brand facilitation or ambassador experience a bonus!
  • Familiarity or passion for sustainable business also a bonus
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and/or internationally several times per year

International Partnerships Coordinator [Part-Time, Remote]

Being our International Partnerships Coordinator:


A successful coordinator will assist in the management of our relationships with international partners. Each year, partner organizations in other countries take our core conference model and implement it in their respective countries. We have had partner-led conferences in Istanbul, Madrid, Tokyo, Buenos Aires, Cape Town, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, São Paulo, and others.

We are looking for someone to help us work more effectively with our international partners. In this role, you will help us streamline our communication with our partners, bring them the tools and resources they need to be successful and bring our brand to life in every other country in which we do business.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting us in excellent, timely communications with a variety of international partners
  • Facilitating monthly phone or video calls between international partners and key members of the Sustainable Brands team; capturing key takeaways and providing follow up
  • Assisting the Global Brand Services & International Teams with the set-up and creation of monthly newsletters to all international partners
  • Help to coordinate a day-long or weekend-long event international partners either before or after our upcoming conferences.

About You/Experience Required:

  • Experience with coding languages like HTML and CSS (required)
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design, as you will be dealing with many design assets.
  • Proficient with all common types of information technology, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Docs and all manners of Internet research
  • Video editing experience a major plus
